Anthropic's call to slow down the development of advanced artificial intelligence systems is now openly dividing the industry. While OpenAI supports the idea of a more measured pace, Meta believes that each lab can ensure its own safety. Meanwhile, Mistral AI disputes restrictions that, according to the French company, could only strengthen the position of already dominant players.

NVIDIA closed its second quarter of fiscal year 2027 with record revenue of $96.2 billion. Driven by demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure, the company saw its revenues more than double within one year.

According to The Information, Nvidia allegedly struck a deal to acquire Hugging Face for $12.9 billion. While the transaction has not yet been officially announced by either company, it would place Nvidia in control of one of the premier platforms within the open artificial intelligence model ecosystem.

Perplexity has launched Portable Computer, a version of its Perplexity Computer agent designed with NVIDIA to run directly on local hardware. Initially available on DGX Spark, this approach allows private data to remain stored on the device and enables task execution without consuming Perplexity credits.
